CITY TRIP

what ?
on Monday the 20th me and a other five people went in to the city we looked at Canterbury museum city walk te puna 6 waiwhetu/Christchurch art gallery


so what ?
i really enjoyed the walk around the city with my group we all so looked at lots of sculptures we all so did a book with lots of questions about the museum.


now what ?
learn about different places ,sculptures, famous people

art attack

Art Attack Blog, Week 5, term 3

You can use any of the following to help you complete your art attack blog


WHAT?

For art attack my goal was to produce a piece of art related to our local landscape using either paint, water color or pastel.

With Mrs Marsh I learned about foreground, mid ground and background in landscapes.
With Mr Forman I learned about color and complementary colours.
With Mr Rule I looked at the different landscape features of Canterbury and Banks Peninsula.

SO WHAT?
I learned from each teacher’s lesson shapes and sizes
in my art i featured trees, hills,, buildings, mountains, a sun and a road
my technique was to used water colour and to try wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry
i enjoyed drawing what we wanted and how to lay it out
i am proud of how my drawing was one of best out of every bodes
something i found difficult was panting inside/outside of the lines


NOW WHAT?

I did water color for the art next time i would try paint
I would like to get better at panting inside the lines with a bigger brush i showed foreground, mid ground and background in my art

My handwriting goal is to learn how to do cursive


My spelling goal is to complete list 7


My writing goal is to write about a moment in time using a picture prompt
                                use a variety of simple, compound and complex sentences.
                                
                                


My reading goal is to infer in my reading


My blog goals are  to  add more detail to my blog posts
                            to proofread and edit my blog post before publishing
                            to use a variety of ways to show my learning (text, photos/images, video)
                            to complete all the set blogs for this term
                            to do a ‘Can Do’ blog about an achievement, some other learning or
something I am  proud of

Mathematics

What? 
I have been learning to solve addition problems by first jumping by a tidy number then jumping back


So What?

I have learned that when you have an equation like 73 - 28  = you can either add the same number to both sides, or you can subtract the same number from both sides. 

I have learned that when you have an equation like 145 +  38  = if you add something to one side, you must take it away from the other side.


Now What?

My next step is to use this strategy independently

Te Reo Maori

What ? We have been learning language about Ko Au which means

Cloze blog

What?
I am learning how to do a cloze activity to help me with my reading
Being able to make logical predictions about what word would fit correctly into a sentence is a successful reader strategy.

So What?
We use the following procedures:
  1. Read the whole text so that we can get an overall picture of the text.
  2. Re-read the text and think of words that would fit into the gaps. Write them down
  3. Look at the word list for this activity and see if I am correct / make changes

Now What?
I am at the following stage: A = I am independent. I read the text, select words that I feel logically and grammatically fit, and then I use the word list to confirm my predictions and / or make some small changes.
